Canon EOS M3 Camera

Canon is bringing its newest mirrorless camera, the EOS M3, to the US market. First introduced in Asia and Europe in the beginning of 2015, the camera is built with  a 24.2MP CMOS sensor, DIGIC 6 processor, 49-point hybrid CMOS AF III autofocus system, two dial controls, 1,040K dots tilting touchscreen, pop-up flash, and integrated Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity. The M3 will be available in two body colors, black and white, for $799.99 (coupled with a 18-55mm IS STM lens) starting October. It can also be purchased as body only for $679.99 and with a two lens kit (18-55mm and 55-200mm) for $1049.99.

GoPro HERO4 Session Camera

GoPro is expanding its action camera lineup with the new waterproof HERO4 Session. The super-compact  (1.5" cube) and ultra-light (2.6 oz) camera records video at 720/100p, 960/60p, 1440/30p, and 1080/60p and shill shots in 8MP wide and 5MP medium with time-lapse and burst modes up to 10 fps. It has one-button control to start, stop, and save recordings and can be operated with GoPro App via Bluetooth and built-in WiFi or Smart Remote. The camera features Dual Mic system, Auto Image Rotation, SuperView and Auto Low Light video modes. The Session is compatible with all GoPro mounts and accessories and comes with a new ball joint buckle mount. Priced at $399.99, the camera is expected to start shipping on July 12.

Olympus Stylus Tough TG-4 Camera

Olympus is adding a new camera, the TG-4, to its Stylus Tough series. The new rugged compact is waterproof down to 50 feet, freezeproof down to 14 F degrees, crushproof up to 220 lb as well as dustproof. The TG-4 sports a 16MP CMOS sensor, TruePic VII processing engine, 4x optical zoom lens, and Wi-Fi/GPS connectivity. The TG-4 can record RAW images and has new Underwater HDR, Live Composite and two Custom shooting modes. The camera will come in red and black body colors in May and is currently available for pre-order for $379.99.

Olympus Stylus 1s Camera

Olympus is launching the Stylus 1s, a successor to its previously not available in the US Stylus 1. The list of features that the 1s shares with the Stylus 1 includes a 12MP CMOS sensor, 10.7x iZuiko Digital lens, hybrid control ring for focusing and zooming, 1.44M-dot electronic viewfinder, 1040K-dot LCD, 1080/30p video, and Wi-Fi. The upgrades include grip modifications and additional shooting options such as Small AF Target, Interval Shooting, Time Lapse Movie, Easy Step Zoom and more. Scheduled to arrive later this month, the Stylus 1s carries a price tag of $699.99.


Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX90 and DSC-WX500 Cameras

Sony has unveiled two new compacts, the Cyber-shot DSC-HX90 and DSC-WX500. Both cameras are equipped with an 18.2MP CMOS sensor, BIONZ X processor, 30x optical zoom lens with IS, lens control ring, articulated 921K dot LCD, 1080/60p video function, built-in pop-up flash as well as Wi-Fi/NFC connectivity. The HX90 also boasts a retractable OLED viewfinder and GPS.
The cameras are set to launch in June. Listed for $430, the HX90 will be available in black only, while the WX500, priced for $330, will come in black, red, and white.

Nikon 1 J5 comes with a 20.8MP BSI-CMOS sensor without anti-aliasing filter, new EXPEED 5A image processor, advanced hybrid AF system with 105 phase-detection points, command dial and dedicated function button, tilting LCD, ultra high-def 4k video recording capabilities, continuous shooting mode at approx. 20fps, and Wi-Fi/NFC connectivity. The camera will be available in April in three buying options:
1. with 1 Nikkor VR 10-30mm lens for $499.95;
2. with 1 Nikkor VR 10-30mm & 30-110mm lenses for $749.95;
3. with 1 Nikkor VR 10-100mm lens for $1049.95.

Olympus Stylus SH-2 Camera


Olympus has just announced the Stylus SH-2, a successor to the last year's SH-1 camera. The new retro-styled long-zoom runs a TruePic VII processor and features a 16MP BSI CMOS sensor, 24x optical zoom lens, 5-axis IS system, 3" 460K-dot touchscreen LCD, 1080/60p video recording and RAW image capture capabilities, and built-in Wi-Fi. The SH-2 has advanced video recording modes for high-speed and time-lapse movies as well as new Nightscape modes for night-time shooting. The $400 camera is expected to ship in April.

Nikon D7200 Camera

Nikon has announced a successor to its popular D7100, the D7200 SLR. The new camera sports a 24.2MP DX CMOS sensor without optical low-pass filter, EXPEED 4 image processor, new 51-point AF system, 3.2" 1.2M-dot fixed LCD, built-in Wi-Fi and NFC. The D7200 can record Full HD 1080p video at up to 60fps and still images in burst shooting mode at up to 6fps. The camera will be available in April for $1699.95 (with 18-140mm lens kit) or $1199.95 (body only).

Nikon Coolpix P900 Camera

Nikon has just announced its new flagship super-zoom, the Coolpix P900. Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF7 Camera

Panasonic has unveiled its new entry-level ILC, the Lumix DMC-GF7. The camera comes with a 16MP MOS sensor and features a fully articulated selfie-friendly touch screen, automatic Self Shot mode, Light Speed AF system, Full HD 1080/60p video recording and continuous shooting mode up to 40fps, built-in pop-up flash, and Wi-Fi / NFC.
The GF7 will be available in February for $599.99 (with 12-32mm F3.5-5.6 Vario collapsible kit lens).

Fujifilm has announced the X-A2, a new compact interchangeable lens camera. The X-A2 features a 16.3MP APS-C CMOS sensor, EXR Processor II, ISO range of 100-25600,  a 3" 920K-dot 175-degree tilting LCD, 1080/30p video and RAW image capture capabilities, brand new Film Simulation shooting modes, and Wi-Fi connectivity. The camera will ship bundled with a new XC 16-50mm II F3.5-5.6 OIS lens in February for $549.95.

Fujifilm XQ2 Camera

Fujifilm is expanding its X series lineup with the XQ2 camera. The advanced compact offers a 12MP X-Trans CMOS II sensor, EXR Processor II engine, 4x optical zoom lens, high-speed AF system, 1080/60p video and continuous shooting mode at up to 9fps, 3" 920K-dot LCD, and built-in Wi-Fi.  The camera will debut in February at $399.95.

Fujifilm FinePix XP80 Camera

Fujifilm has announced its new toughest compact, the FinePix XP80.  The camera boasts a 16.4MP BSI CMOS sensor, a 5x optical zoom lens with optical IS, built-in flash, Full HD 1080/60p movie recording capability, a dedicated button for continuous shooting at up to 10fps, 11 creative filters, and Wi-Fi connectivity. The XP80 is waterproof to 50ft, freezeproof to 14 degrees F, shockproof to 5.8ft as well as dustproof. The camera will ship in March for $229.95.

Fujifilm FinePix S9900W and S9800 Cameras

Fujifilm has announced two new, almost identical long-zoom compacts, the FinePix S9900W and S9800.  Both cameras come with a 16.2MP BSI CMOS sensor, 50x optical zoom lens, 920K-dot EV, Full HD 1080/60p video with 5-axis image stabilization, continuous shooting mode of up to 10fps, and a variety of creative effects. The difference between them is that the S9900W is equipped with built-in Wi-Fi, which the S9800 lacks. 
The S9900W and S9800 will be available in March for $349.95 and $329.95 respectively.

Nikon D5500 Camera

Nikon has announced a successor for its last year's D5300, the new "advanced beginner" D5500. The camera is slightly smaller and lighter than its predecessor but has the same 24.2MP sensor without an anti-aliasing filter, EXPEED 4 engine, 39-detection point AF system, Full HD 1080/60p video function, and built-in WiFi. No built-in GPS unit is available in the D5500 though. The main difference between the two cameras seems to be a fully articulated 3.2" 1,037M-dot touch screen added to the D5500.
The new camera is expected to ship in two body colors, black and red, and will be available in February in three configurations: body only ($899.95), with a standard retractable AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR II lens ($999.95), and with a new AF-S DX NIKKOR 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED VR II lens ($1,199.95).

Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS50, DMC-ZS45, and DMC-SZ10 Cameras

In addition to three new rugged cameras, Panasonic is introducing a series of new super-zooms, the Lumix DMC-ZS50 (DMC-TZ70), DMC-ZS45 (DMC-TZ57), and DMC-SZ10.

The Lumix ZS50 offers a 12.1MP CMOS sensor, 30x optical zoom Leica lens, Venus Engine, 5-axis hybrid image stabilization system, 3-inch LCD, 1.166K-dot electronic viewfinder,  Full HD 1080/60p video and raw image format recording capabilities, and built-in WiFi / NFC connectivity. The camera's MSRP is set to $399.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS6 and DMC-TS30 Cameras

Panasonic has unveiled a pair of water-, shock-, dust-, and freeze-proof compacts, the DMC-TS6 (DMC-FT6) and DMC-TS30 (DMC-FT30).
The TS6 features a 16.1MP CMOS sensor, Venus Engine image processor, a 4.6x optical zoom Leica lens, Full HD 1080/60p video recording function, built-in GPS/Wi-Fi/NFC, and an array of special effects. The camera can withstand freezing temperatures down to 14 degrees F; it is waterproof to 43 ft, shockproof to 6.6 ft, and pressure-resistant up to 220 lbf. The TS6 will be available for $299.99 in four body colors, blue, red, orange, and camouflage.

The TS30's main features include a 16.1MP CCD sensor, a 4x zoom Lumix DC Vario lens, a 2.7" LCD, and 720p video. The camera is waterproof to 26 ft, shockproof to 4.9 ft, freezeproof to 14 degrees F and dustproof. The TS30 will come in three body colors, black, red, and blue, and can be yours for $179.99.

Canon PowerShot SX610 HS, SX710 HS, SX530 HS, ELPH 170 IS, and ELPH 160 Cameras


Canon has added five new compacts to its PowerShot lineup.  The first three cameras are the SX610 HS, SX710 HS, and SX530 HS superzooms.

The SX610 features an 18x optical zoom (25-450mm) lens with intelligent IS, a 20.2MP CMOS sensor, DIGIC 4+ engine, 3" LCD, built-in flash, and Wi-Fi as well as NFC connectivity. The camera records Full HD 1080p video and has continuous shooting mode at up to 7.2fps. The SX610 is expected to ship in three basic colors, black, white, and red, in February at MSRP of $249.99.
